Supreme Court ordered MTS India and Uninor Mumbai to continue mobile service till 11 March, 2013 without specifying any reasons.
This orders extends the 2g license validity up to the next hearing date as well as gave an opportunity for operators to participate in upcoming CDMA and GSM spectrum license auction with out any suspension of mobile services.
Department of telecommunication of India asked Supreme Court in written on 08.01.2013 requesting to allow telecom operators like MTS India and Uninor Mumbai to continue their mobile services until the next Spectrum auction which is going to held on 11 March 11, 2013 .
Earlier MTS India and Uninor Mumbai were asked to continue service till 4 February, 2013, but today (02.02.2013) Supreme court again extended the validity of license of these two operators by allowing them to continue service up to 11 March.
This is an good news for subscribers as well as MTS India and Uninor. All the consumers of MTS India and Uninor Mumbai are expecting not to port their numbers due to exciting recharges and plans offered by the operators and definitely hopping the existence of operations.
In order to maintain mobile service, Two operators must participate in upcoming spectrum Auction for 1800MHz or 800MHz band as per their license requirement ( CDMA license: MTS India for 21 circles and GSM license:Uninor in Mumbai).
