In a response to TRAI directive, Uninor has started returning unused account balance to the Uninor customers in Mumbai circle. Customers can now easily switch to other networks as Uninor decided an immediate distribution of UPC code to their previous customers.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has asked Uninor to refund all unused account balance to the subscribers across Mumbai and Kolkata within 15 days where company has shutdown its operation.
Uninor has started distribution process through its various stores available in Mumbai circle. So the users who has not yet changed their network through MNP process can now try to switch to other network of their choice without any problem and all renaming balance will be redirect to new network.
What is MNP ?
MNP is short form of Mobile Number Portability that is you can change current mobile network to any other network (your choice) without changing the mobile number.
What is UPC ?
UPC is Unique Porting Code, it’s a 8 digit code user need to use at the time of MNP process. Every UPC code maintains a fixed validity and users need to use the code within the validity period otherwise code will be expired.
How to port network ?
Write a msg PORT <Mobile Number> and send it to 1900 to get UPC code but in current situation customers need to contact Uninor to collect UPC code.
Go to nearest retailer and fill up a form and pay the required money for MNP. It will take around 1 week to finish the whole process.
Note: Users have to wait next 90 days to switch to any other networks after a successful MNP.
