Nokia has announced the final date of expiry of support for MeeGo and Symbian OS, Nokia will no longer support and produce updates for both the OS. This is a very bad new for Nokia users who still lover Symbian or Meego OS.
This decision confirms the permanent switching of Nokia mobile platform to Windows mobile operating system. Before Android, Symbian OS was the only and most used OS in mobile platform but Nokia failed to keep that popularity continue and lost its position to Android aw well as Samsung and other big players.
From January 1, 2014, Nokia will stop all the support and no updates will be available to fix errors or problems which will endanger platform security and stability and it’s the end of Symbian era . So, MeeGo and Symbian OS users just start counting the final date.
Although, there is a little hope for the rest of Nokia users: It’s possible to download Nokia apps and access all the features from application store but bad news for developers as they can create new apps but can’t upload to Store for end users.
It was already confirmed that Nokia is going to Goodbye MeeGo and Symbian OS soon when biggest deal with Microsoft was finalized and that ensured Nokia’s permanent switching to Windows platform, Now we hope to get superior Windows mobile in future as Nokia will fully concentrate on Windows platform for their upcoming smartphones.
