OnePlus One is going to launch India via Amazon but a rumour is spreading that OnePlus One won’t ship with CyanogenMod ! OnePlus company reported on its blog that they won’t give updates to OnePlus One Indian version as they gives to its Global version of OnePlus One.
CyanogenMod based Android is just like regular Android version but, In addition it gives plenty of opportunities to edit style, settings, privacy and more so you can customize your device according to your need ! Company of OnePlus One is trying their best to add new features to it One device every new day so the new owner of One will get frequently updates every new days.
But problem is Cyanogen OS has already given usage right to Micromax earlier, which is valid till February 2015. According to OnePlus, OnePlus One for Indian will launch as usual (Dec 2 via Amazon)without any change in OS but they will give no further updates via OTAs to One’s CyanogenMod OS but that doesn’t mean that you actually won’t get updates !
OnePlus will create customize version Cyanogen OS in December for Indian users. Full & stable version of OS will roll out in February 2015. Company has confirmed upcoming CyanogenMod OS for Indian version won’t get too much changes & it won’t hold any unnecessary apps but regional language support will go online. Due to usage rights of cyanogen OS in India, OPO, most probably, has the problem in updating OS via OTAs but it’s sure that situation will change in next three months for OPO.
Main problem is new users of OnePlus One in India won’t get Cyanogen OS updates via OTAs but Flash based updates will be available as usual that means you can update phone via rom-flash.There is no problem in OnePlus One Global version. Global version users will get updates via OTAs without any further issue.
OnePlus report on its blog doesn’t clear the things completely. And, Amazon also changes specs image that is now showing OS: Android 4.4, which was Android 4.4 based on CyanogenMod OS earlier.
This blur report may express some loopholes in their strategy. (That might be good for OPO Indian users !)
1. No changes in hardware specs so you can further flash rom with global version ? (True)
2. Does it void warranty or guaranty if users flash manually with Global version ROM ?
3. Users will get updates via OTAs if OPO Indian version is flashed with Global version ROM ?
4. How much you pay for a OS which won’t get updates (via OTAs) for next few months ! (Not true ! 100%)
5. How many changes will Indian users get in Next firmware updates from OPO in December ?
6. Customize OS for Indian OPO that would launch in Feb 2015 is same as Global version ?
Flashing OnePlus One ROM is little tricky but you can now concentrate in whole new features of brand new OnePlus One once you unbox it.
