Reliance is going to shutdown CDMA service on 14th April, 2016 across West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab & Rajasthan. Anil Ambani owned Reliance is all set to share 850Mhz band with Mukesh Ambani owned Jio telecom company – This 850Mhz band, later, would be utilized to serve superior 4g LTE service.
Reliance CDMA service shutdown across selected circles becomes confirmed once Anil Amabni pays INR5384 crore for liberalizing 850Mhz spectrum in 16 circles which further allows Amabani groups to offer 4G LTE service on this 850Mhz band.
On the other side, Reliance partners MTS via telecom service merging for 800/850 MHz spectrum which would later allows Reliance customers to use MTS 800Mhz CDMA band if Reliance decides later.
Future of CDMA service After April 14, 2016
Reliance will shutdown CDMA service across West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab & Rajasthan after April 14, 2016 – Subscribers would have no access to Reliance CDMA network.
‘Shutdown of Reliance CDMA service' doesn't mean company will left CDMA service across the circles since MTS CDMA service would be an alternative option.
Port out Reliance CDMA Number before April 14 !
