Reliance Jio users now facing excessive call drop issue while trying to call Airtel, Vodafone & Idea number – Solutions to Jio call drop issue is pending over TRAI decision. Jio subscribers need to redial mobile number multiple times to connect single call to Incumbents number. This becomes even nightmare in busy times.
There is no perfect Solution is Jio call drop issue for now – New Jio users are scratching their heads over the matter. Taking an extra connection was only to enjoy Jio unlimited HD voice call but Airtel, Vodafone & Idea seem not here to entertain Jio users.
Incumbents are offering very costly Tariffs for both Voice & Data for long time but Jio entry to Indian telecom market disrupted their business after the launch of ‘Jio Preview Offer’.
Reliance Jio standing
Jio Preview Offer gives unlimited 4G data, Voice & SMS for 90 days – This means anyone can collect Jio sim under ‘Partner Preview Offer’ for free of cost. One can stop making further recharges on existing numbers (Number may be Airtle, Vodafone, idea, BSNL, Rcom, Docomo, Aircel etc) for next 3 months.
Jio Preview Offer simply overcomes Incumbents offering – Unlimited 4G with 40mbps+ speed, HD Voice calls, HD Video calls & SMS without any Blackout days.
Incumbents has enough subscribers and they have no further plans to upgrade infrastructure with new entry of telecom operators rather incumbents concentrated on denying shared services to new operator, here Jio.
With the launch of Jio Preview Offer, Incumbents started blocking calls coming from Jio number – Users have to redial number for multiple times to connect a single call to Airtel, Vodafone or Idea, even BSNL in few cases.
Incumbency has tendency of blocking services coming from New entry !
This is not New, Aircel unlimited call pack 234 was an example – Calls from Aircel were getting blocked just after 7 days from the launch date of the plan, Aircel later removed plan from list.
BSNL had taken same blocking strategy in 2011 when Airtel, Vodafone, Idea were starting new offering for telecom subscribers. TRAI later takes control of everything and asked BSNL to release enough POIs in 48 hours.
Release of adequate POI & Increase of IUC
Reliance Jio calls to Airtel, Vodafone, Idea are getting dropped due to lack of adequate POI (Point of Interconnects) from Incumbents. POI is necessary for connecting calls coming from another operators – It’s a shared infrastructure services every telecom operators share with other, In exchange providers get 15p/min IUC charge (Interconnect Usage Charge)
Jio is new so most of the Jio calls to be made towards Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Aircel, Docomo, BSNL, RCOM etc.
Incumbents are blocking Jio call because Jio is chocking Incumbents network (According to Incumbents) by making huge amount of free calls to Incumbents network.
Incumbents already stated they can not release more Points of Interconnections to Jio due to huge load in Network coming from even their own subscribers – Releasing more POIs means suicide !
Incumbents are Saturated, Become OLD and no plans for Infra Upgrade !
By denying of providing enough POIs to Jio, Incumbents are actually proving they are saturated & become old for experimenting new services !
Incumbents have no further plans to upgrade system for handling new services coming ahead due to launch of new operators in India.
In spite of having enough POIs, Incumbents are blocking Jio numbers unfairly – Subscribers are suffering ultimately.
Huge calls from JIO or From Users frustrated over Incumbents for decades
Incumbents claimed Huge Calls coming from Jio users !
Who are those Jio users ?
These subscribers are Alien suddenly coming from Mars !!! ???
These ‘Jio users’ were obviously using Airtel or Vodafone or Idea or Aircel or Reliance or BSNL or Docomo or Telenor or any other operators before jumping into services provided by Reliance Jio.
Why these Subscribers are leaving Incumbent operators ?
Only for Voice calls , No data !!!
Incumbents block Jio calls not for Voice revenue but Data Revenue
Incumbents are shouting over losing Voice Revenue and wants Jio to fix Voice rate per Telecom directive which means Jio should stop unlimited Voice and charge users as per Incumbents Voice rate so that every telecom operators can continue business no matter what subscribers demand !
Incumbents shouting over ‘Voice revenue loss’ is just a gimmick but truth is they are losing a massive amount of revenue usually generated due to costly data pricing which is now under threat due entry of Jio Preview Offer.
Incumbents have no way to block Data connections Jio subscribers are using – If Incumbents had control over Jio data services then they had already been started throttling subscribers Internet speed & connection.
2. Voice Voice calls VS HD Voice calls
3. Costly SMS plans with Blackout days term VS Unlimited SMS
For above three choices, Customers will always choose second options.
Now, Incumbents have no way to block Jio data but they can block Voice coming from Jio numbers.
Incumbents demand increment in IUC charge
Jio has over 5 million customers for now. Company has plan to increase subscribers base to over 100 million by year end.
Incumbents are already feared over huge load to come from these upcoming user base thanks to ‘lifetime free voice calls’ which is why Incumbents are demanding a little more increment in IUC from Jio. Although current IUC rate is 15p/minute.
Basically give something in front-end & take something in back-end principle !
Time for Learning lessons or Teaching New Rule
Incumbents are trying best to indirectly teach Jio a lesson that business is possible by following laws created by existing operators not what Subscribers demand or new age need !
Jio on other hand trying best to attract new customers by launching offers those are simply unexpected & surprising ! Jio is trying best to serve something new for next generation technologies.
Airtel to upgrade 4G Speed up to 135mbps
Airtel is going to upgrade 4g network for increasing speed up to 135mbps.
Airtel is not going to deploy VoLTE on 4G network in near future according to company CEO.
Airtel completely ignores Voice service upgradation rather concentrating on 4G data service upgradation – This implies how desperate Airtel is becoming over losing data revenues !
Jio unfair migration of LYF Preview users to Welcome Offer
Jio is not completely out of complain for now.
Company already start showing its face by migrating LYF Preview users to Welcome Offer. User who paid money for ‘LYF+Preview Offer’ bundled now shifted from Unlimited 4g to only 4GB/day term even before end of predetermined validity of offering.
Jio here violates norms of user’s right to services one paid for.
Preview Offer to Welcome Offer migration for LYF subscribers proved that Jio can also do harm to its own users no matter what subscribers demand or paid for !
Don’t be over excited over Jio 4G
Jio 4g plans are now live and most of them are just like Incumbents except Free Voice – Few MBs or GBs data, WiFi data but no terms for rural subscribers where JioNet WiFi is missing, Pathetic Night time (2am to 5am).
Along with, Minimum Rs 149/month recharge is mandatory to continue free lifetime HD voice and Rs 50/GB 4G pricing.
Jio is using 3 LTE bands for superior 4G but services are not as per Jio ‘TRUE 4G’ slogan !
Band 5 (850Mhz) : HD Voice Call – Blur HD Video Call – No 4G Speed
Band 3 (1800Mhz) : HD Voice Call, HD Video Call – No 4G Speed, only 3G Speed
Band 40 (2300Mhz) : HD Voice/Video Call – 4G Speed
If you check range then (Band 5 > Band 3 > Band 40), Band 5 is better for coverage & band 40 is better for speed.
Most of the Jio users are basically having HD Voice & 3G speed in the name of TRUE 4G Service !
In this point, Jio is too lazy to implement 4G speed in Band 3 & 5, at least band 3.
Meeting over POI matter between Jio & incumbents
TRAI called a meeting on Sept 9, 2016 where both the parties (Jio & incumbents) joined but results come void. New amendment to come over Network Trial period and IUC charge later.
Solutions to Jio 1.6 crore call drop per day !
Jio is now facing over 1.6 crore call drop per day due to fact that Incumbents are denying sufficient POIs to Jio.
Incumbents can not give unlimited services what Jio is offering in the name of ‘Preview Offer’ or ‘Partner Preview Offer’ or ‘Welcome Offer’.
Incumbents can only compete Jio by providing attracting offers which is possible only after January 1st, 2017 when Jio start commercially allowing users to further make recharges for continuing services.
This situation will end once further directives come from TRAI. Otherwise, Jio users need to wait till January 1st, 2017 – The date when ‘Jio Commercial launch’ will take place.
