As we stated yesterday, MTS Indian is going to ask its subscribers across Mumbai, Maharashtra & Goa and UP East to port out the mobile numbers, it becomes true now.
MTS India has requested its CDMA users across 3 circles to port out the numbers by a Public Notice on its specific Webpages.
In last 800Mhz auction, MTS has won only 8 CDMA license out of 11 and company was unable to win the license for these 3 circles which leads them to stop mobile service across Mumbai, UP East and Maharashtra & Goa circle.
According to company, ” Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL), licensee for Mumbai Circle was part of 122 licenses of various operators which were cancelled by the Hon'ble Supreme Court by its Judgment dated 02.02.2012. Auction for 800 MHz spectrum was concluded on 11th March, 2013. SSTL was unable to win spectrum in Mumbai. Consequently, SSTL is constrained to withdraw its services from Mumbai Circle. SSTL has made a request to DOT to allow continue operation for 30 days from 11th March, 2013 for enabling customers to port out.”
and “Subscribers in the Mumbai circle may exhaust their balance and other benefits. Subscribers can retain their existing mobile numbers and switch to new operators of their choice by going through the process of mobile number portability.”
Above Notice ( Circle name may change) was published on each website where MTS lost its CDMA license.
So CDMA users across these three circles who wish to retain their numbers just switch the network by Mobile Number portability(MNP) service as soon as possible.
