Reliance now on continuing 2G service using partner network in WB, Bihar & Assam. Today Reliance stopped its own 2G network in morning and automatically switching numbers to respective partner network which resulted a Roaming sign in some numbers.
This is the end of ongoing debate on future of Reliance 2g service in three telecom circles where company failed to obtain license for 2g spectrum.
NewsTelecom already provided information on options for users after Reliance stops 2g network in WB, Bihar & Assam and also confirmed about Reliance 2g future on Partner Network. If you already ported your Reliance number then wait few days for further service activation on MNP network.
Reliance 3g upgrade is on its way and it may take long time since 4G launch may happen shortly and Reliance existing customers can switch to Reliance Jio 4g after official launch. Jio 4G network (IND-JIO) is visible in every corner of India – A massive launch of Reliance Jio 4g is expected at the beginning of 2016 !
Reliance already sent sms to customers informing 4G upgrade, 3G switching and confirmation on 2G continuity in three respected circles. Now users continuing 2G service using partner network in these three circles can use Voice & SMS plans & packs but no data service is allowed via partner network.
Reliance Users having issue in Network connections can manually search networks and choose partner network: Aircel for WB, Try TATA Docomo or Aircel for Bihar & Assam. User can see Partner network logo along with Roaming sign on mobile but its not a matter of worry ! All service will remain same.
Reliance data oriented users need to wait few days of month for 3G network availability but 4G network access via Jio 4g is confirmed after the launch. Existing data usage will remain unused & expires after end of validity.
Update (Dec 12): Reliance chose Vodafone for WB, and Aircel for Kolkata Sim, Bihar & Assam users can need to select Vodafone or Aircel or Docomo to maintain network activity.
