MTS CDMA service will stop working 30 November 2017 onwards. After MTS is successfully merged with RCOM, MTS customers need to upgrade Sim to RCOM 4G or PORT out to any desired cellular operator to continue the existing number. MTS would become RCOM after ‘successful merger'. Now RCOM has authority to utilize MTS telecom assets.
RCOM is to continue 4G network in couple of days by suspending all GSM services. Existing RCOM subscribers need to PORT Out to RCOM 4G or any other GSM or LTE network to continue same number.
MTS has already started sending SMS to existing customers for 4G upgrade :
“We thanks all customers for having been associated with MTS, henceforth you can enjoy 4G network of RCOM as MTS network is now RCOM network“
RCOM, after taking authority of MTS also urges customers to either upgrade to RCOM 4G or to any other telecom network by citing :
“Please upgrade to our high speed 4G data services or opt to port to network of choice. CDMA services will be shutdown ar 23:59 hrs of 30 November 17. RCOM“
MTS CDMA services will be stopped working after 30 November 2017. RCOM will take full advantage of MTS spectrum to increase 4G coverage across the circles.
RCOM will definitely bring some surprising offerings for 4G customers. Unlimited Voice is primary concerned, no doubt.
‘Voice services' is no longer a big source of revenue for TSPs.
‘Data' is future – India yet to get digitally developed – More and more customers to come online – Small business to develop rapidly (GST !).
Concentrating on high-speed Upload, faster response time, Internet speed between 10mbps to 24mbps and superior network coverage will help TSP to gain success.
Existing MTS CDMA subscribers need to send PORT SMS (i.e PORT 1234567890 ) to 1900 for 8 digit UPC number. Use code to PORT out to RCOM 4G network or to any other GSM or LTE network in time to avoide service disruption after 30th Nov, 2017.
