MTS CDMA Shutdown on 30 November, 2017

MTS CDMA service will be shutdown on 30 November 2017. After MTS successfully merged with RCOM, MTS customers either need to upgrade Sim to RCOM 4G or PORT out to any desired cellular operator. MTS become RCOM after successful merger which taken place few hours ago. Now RCOM has authority to utilize MTS telecom assets.

RCOM is going to be 4G only network within couple of days by suspending all GSM services. As a result MTS customers can not directly use Reliance GSM network to sustain the existing services rather subscribers need to apply for PORT out facility for any of these cases including PORT out to Reliance 4G or PORT out to any other GSM or LTE network.

RCOM, after taking authority of MTS also urges customers to either upgrade to RCOM 4G or to any other telecom network by citing :

Please upgrade to our high speed 4G data services or opt to port to network of choice. CDMA services will be shutdown ar 23:59 hrs of 30 November 17. RCOM

MTS CDMA services will be stopped working after 30 November 2017. RCOM will take full advantage of MTS spectrum to increase 4G coverage across the circles.

RCOM is simply losing most of its customers at once and there is no confirmation how company will re-gain much of its existing customers. RCOM will definitely bring some surprising offerings for 4G customers. Unlimited Voice is primary concerned, no doubt.

‘Voice services' is no longer a big source of monthly revenue for telecom operators.

‘Data' is future – India yet to digitally developed – More and more customers to come online – Small business to develop rapidly (GST !).

RCOM need to concentrate on high-speed UPLOAD, Internet with faster response time, forget high-speed gimmick – Internet speed between 10mbps to 24mbps, enough for HD & 4K streaming and obviously network coverage better than current network quality.

Existing MTS CDMA subscribers need to send PORT SMS (i.e PORT 1234567890 ) to 1900 for 8 digit UPC number. Use code to PORT out to RCOM 4G network or to any other GSM or LTE network in time to avoide service disruption after 30th Nov, 2017.

  3. How to upgrade MTS CDMA services to MTS RCOM? A brief note is required. An early reply is solicited.

    1. Hi Madhusudan Chatterjee,
      Please visit nearest Reliance Store or Service center and ask them your number to PORT to RCOM 4G.
      Be sure to carry : UPC (Port code), Aadhar Card or, VoterCard along with Photocopy.
      Number will be upgrade to RCOM 4G in 5 days (May vary) and you will get a notification from current network.
      Now insert new sim and follow activation process supplied by RCOM support to enjoy 4G service from RCOM.

      Note: Please manually search 4G network from your 4g phone to be sure that RCOM 4G network is currently active at your location.

  5. I HAVE POSPAID MTS DATA CARD. HOW TO SEND SMS FROM DATA CARD THERE IS NO OPTION FOR SMS FROM MTS DATA CARD SO THAT I CAN PORT TO OTHER COMPANY. AND IF I DO NOTHING TILL NOVEMBER 30 WHAT I HAVE TO DO WITH MY DEVICE DID I GET MONTHLY BILL TO PAY??? AFTER NOVEMBER 30?

My mts blaze stopped working after 1st,nov without any notice. i only reiceved an sms saying that mts is now rcom. it is too bad that they stopped without informing and customer care number in TN is not working. i am a post paid customer and i dont want to pay for service which i am not getting in the first place.

      RCOM has already sent PORT code (UPC) to all existing MTS Dongle users. Please check registered Mobile number for UPC details.

          You will get PORT code (UPC) in both your MTS number as well as alternative number which you had given to MTS support during activation of MTS Sim.

          1. I have not received port code in both my mts number which is a mblaze ultra wireless datacard nor my registered mobile number. what is the solution. Not able to reach reliance customercare at 04430333333 and there are no reliance mobile stores operational at Chennai.

      2. i did not received any UPC code .only i am receiving bill ,which i did not use also.from 1 nov 2017 its stopped working i request for deactivation of connection .i sent mail to mts on 3 nov to 8 nov 2017. they did not reply and they already closed their customer care service number.i got bill on 25 nov 2017 from RCOM .i tried calling RCOM care but numbers are incorrect too.i sent mail to RCOM from there also no response.i tried to used mts again from 25 nov 2017 after getting the bill,but speed was too slow and after 29 nov 2017 dongole is not working only .it is not connecting to the network only.i tried to visit RCOM office in yelankha ,bangalore,rt nagar,bangalore.on 6th dec 2017.but i didnt find any RCOM office.as i got addresss from RCOM website.then where is RCOM office in Bangalore.what is RCOM customer care number for MTS postpaid user?

          We are constantly updating most urgent news here, you might miss news of MTS shutdown anyway. Be sure to subscribe to our mailing list so that you never any updates in future.

          Well come to point, MTS become RCOM now. No more CDMA from MTS as well as no more 2G/3G from RCOM. MTS CDMA officially went down from Nov 30, 2017.

          Both RCOM & MTS subscribers with UPC code can port number till Dec 31st, 2017) and continue service but if you missed the last date to collect UPC code you most probably can’t do anything to retain same number.

          Yes, RCOM & MTS support system was down from last couple of weeks. All you need to do is send a request mails for UPC code to MTS and forward copy to TRAI and PGportal along with all other details.

      You can’t use MTS dongle anymore, MTS will shutdown from Nov 30, 2017. PORT number to RCOM 4G or any other 2G/3G/4G operator to continue numbers as well as respected services given by respective operator.

  15. Can you give me one address in Chennai of reliance mobile store which is promoting their 4g services so that I can personally go and do what is to be done for exchanging my mts dongle mblaze ultra. I have not received ant port code for the same

  16. I had paid bill of october month for my mts number 8459259290. How I can port it in new network or another network or RCOM. My data card does not have sim. It Mblaze 3G Data Card. It is not working since 11 November 2017. I am not getting any solution neither MTS customer care or Reliance customer care is connecting.

  17. My MTS No. was 9143382360. It was a postpaid connection. I have already cleared the bill. I have again received an SMS to clear the bill of November. It is for your kind information that MTS did not provide any service since early days of November. My MTS dongle was not at all giving any service. I tried to frantically connect with MTS but like a parrot it was being intimated that I would not get any more service from MTS CDMA and I had to either switch over to TCOM or to port out to any other service provider as per my choice. When I contacted with Reliance Communications outlet the counterman failed to give any positive reply regarding this.This thing happened for a number of times since 1st week of November and since I was not being able to get internet service I was compelled to port out to Airtel and they are now my service provider. So my benign questions are as follows:-
    1) Why should I pay for November since no service was received from MTS since almost 1st day of November.
    2) If at all I have to pay then how to do that and to which company that is to paid.
    3) Definitely Reliance cannot claim it because the property will belong to MTS upto 29/11.
    4) From now on I shall entertain the bill of Airtel only and neither of Reliance nor of MTS.

      Kindly visit RCOM service center and aks for UPC to MPN to RCOM 4G. MTS went offline from Nov 30, so official support ended as usual but PORT is possible till Dec 30, 2017.

  35. i have MTS Mblaze data card. it has stopped working since nov 1st. how do i change to RCOM ? or get this data card cancelled. none of the customer care numbers are working.
    very pathetic merger of MTS and RCOM. customers are left clueless and asked to pay bill for service that was never provided.

  36. My problem is that i got ups code on 27th november and now my mts phone is showing its network but i am unable to make any call or send message.i want to know can i still port my no?
    i went to a jio store and requested them to port my no and they said they are not sure whether the no will be port or not because mts has been shut down.So my question is that if you sent me a ups code on 27th nov and it was mentioned in the message that this code is valid till 31st december then why i cant port my no?
    second thing is that i wont be able to produce a ups code now because i cannot send message from my mts sim now…and in case if i cannot port my no is there any way i can get my no back..if i talk to rcom because its very important no for me and i cant afford to lose it.
    i just want my no back.and is rcom and jio same company or they are different?
    and i have heard ups code expires after 15 days but in your message you mentioned that its valid till 31st dec..so who is right?
